Neck of the Woods is currently seeking lead and assistant teachers for the early childhood education program. We serve the Mad River Community and Central Vermont region. We have 4 or 5 day a week work options for 40 hours full time employment. Familiarity and proficient with emergent curriculum, Reggio Emilia, child development, strengths based behavior management and a community-based philosophy, as well a willingness to have fun, be creative and silly. Lead teachers should be comfortable developing curriculum and training classroom assistants. Preferred abilities include: strong communication skills and ability to connect with parents, comfortable with Work Sampling or TSGold developmental assessments, Nature-Based programming and environmental stewardship, and restorative circles.
Lead teachers must be over the age of 21, other staff must be 18 and over. Our hours of operation are 7:30-5:00, with an academic day of 7:30-3, with after school from 3-5. Lead teachers must have 30+ credits in or related to early childhood education. All staff must meet state licensing requirements for employment, pass a background check, and be fingerprinted before beginning to work with children. Preference for teachers with BA degree and even further education.

Salaries for lead teachers are $17/hr and above. Associate teachers begin at $15/hr with experience. Floaters, assistant teachers and trainees are paid based on experience and education, beginning at $13.50/hr. Benefits include training costs covered, some holidays, and earned CTO. Health benefits will become a part of the benefits as we grow.
